Unique arrangements, vocal harmonies, song stories, duelling flutes and more… in a showcase of inimitable sco’s-aussie style. All-round pied pipers… that play almost everything but!
Don was taught Scottish history through songs and stories. A love of the work of Robert Burns was a big part of the aural tradition that was shared. He’s been performing those songs and adding to that collection ever since, winning solo singing competitions, and travelling with various bands. Angela has classical roots that pretty quickly loosened up into folk and funk styles along the way. She cannot resist the charms of each instruments colour, complementing with rich vocal harmonies.
The Twa Bards have developed thematic performances inspired by: ‘A Taste of Scotland’, ‘A Tribute to Robert Burns’, ‘Celtic Fairytales’, and ‘A Singing Tour of Scotland’ that has the capacity to feature slides as a virtual tour, transported by song, place and story.
Their love of musical conversation breathes vitality, and sometimes the unexpected, into every arrangement. Original folk songs and tunes complement and bring flavour to the brew… like whiskey & haggis, chilli & chocolate!
Over the last few years they have also developed and performed numerous
sound bath meditations which complements Angela’s sound therapy study.
